Opinion | Is an Embryo a Life?

I have shared a few posts on my personal facebook page about my pro-choice opinions, and with the topic of abortion looming large right now, I decided to write my thoughts in one cohesive blog post instead of in a thousand disconnected comments on facebook.

From my perspective I see two fundamental questions that spring from the topic of abortion. There is the anti-choice side that justifies abortion by saying they can’t condone murder. Then there is the pro-choice side that says, making abortion illegal will only put women’s lives at risk. Women in desperate situations will attempt an abortion whether it is safe or not.

Hot Take; Christians Do Not Believe In Freedom of Religion

After reading this article found on the NPR website, I decided to write about some long held beliefs and observations of mine about Christianity and their views on religious freedom.

So let’s deconstruct this a little bit.

Finding God On The Internet

Part 4 - What do I do now?

I felt very lost. For the first time in my life I didn't want to believe in god. I was questioning if a higher power existed at all.

The Bible Verse That Broke My Faith

Yep you read that correctly. I didn't lose my faith over my youth pastor getting fired for having an affair, I didn't lose my faith over my community rejecting me for loving refugees, and I didn't lose my faith when my lead pastor was fired for manipulating the women he had been counseling. I lost my faith when I read Numbers chapter 5.

Losing My Community - A Lesson On How To Not Use Facebook

Part 2 - 2016

In a very crowded presidential race, it was hard to know who the front runners might be, but one thing I knew for sure is that I would never vote for Trump, and I assumed no one else would either. So I posted this popular photo, because I didn't know who I wanted to vote for yet, but I did know I didn't want Trump.

My Salvation Story - Leaving the Republican Party

Year 1 - 2015

In 2008 I cast my first ever vote in the presidential election of Barack Obama vs. John McCain. I voted for John McCain.

I grew up in a Christian home, and I mostly identified as being conservative. I would go to church, and hear the pastor's conservative leaning sermons and think that's what I'm supposed to believe. So I did.
